Some people have asked me what type / company I've used. Here I go:

My pastel pencils were made by Derwent. It's a great company for pastel pencils and normal graphite pencils, although I must prefer koh-i-noor polycolor colouring pencils over the Derwent ones.

The pens I've used for the outline are made by Faber-Castell in a 5-pack of "terra" browns and yellows. They were expensive, but were definitely worth my pocket money. They're very versatile and waterproof too (great if you want to paint over them in watercolors). You can get different thicknesses, from a fine point to a "brush". I used the "brush" ones for this -- they enable you to get both a thick and and thin line which is a great advantage over regular fine-liners.
